I agree that there are solutions but they depend on international cooperation and some kind of governance that promotes responsible use and regulates the spread of disinformation. Since many of our leaders, governments and corporations are responsible for spreading disinformation I can't see that happening.Alastair Creelmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15437257475474703309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1175530035414490569.post-29028260272780430592024-01-29T11:05:51.429+01:002024-01-29T11:05:51.429+01:00This is an interesting article. These tools are supposed to be supportive of human activity offering a means of improving productivity. We are far from the stage where AI will total replace human activity. This is evident even in the case studies explored by the linked articles. It is the responsibility of content creative and publishers to fact-check their content before it is publish to the public. Their responsibility has not changed. However there seems to be a pervading atmosphere of irresponsibility and laziness where fact-checking is concerned as persons creating content focus more on the rush to profit than the quality of the product that they are putting out there. Misinformation was a problem before the increased usage of AI tools. However it would seem that this increase usage may result in increased misinformation. This is indeed a problem but possibly solutions exists. The issue is that most humans will not fact-check what they read online and will accept it as gospel as seen many times with misinformation.ameliushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06320667513751160151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1175530035414490569.post-43112993832501461462024-01-09T13:53:48.440+01:002024-01-09T13:53:48.440+01:00How interesting to read your path of learning and ...How interesting to read your path of learning and developing. I see some similarity to Google when the search engine was the early years. You could put in a search and basically find the answers you were looking for. Google searches these days lead mostly to advertisements. The fear that I feel is more related to what will happen when big businesses buy up these inventions, making them into something that controls the information we have access to in order to make everyone a customer. It may be interesting to track whether retirement or the health issues will turn out to be of more consequence. Perhaps they can't be disentangled in any case. Thinking of how you may be disengaging from some areas I'm reminded of Michael Huberman's work on teachers experiences as they move away from education, but also from a recent podcast on how our strengths change as we age. Among other things, by having students participate in the tele-videoconferens or in lesson rooms with web conference equipment on campus together with students remotely at home (with a web client) and at the same time students at learning centers. So this is nothing new in itself. Teachers and librarians have had this type of teaching for several years – what is important is that the students intentionally chose this form of teaching and that information about the form of study can also be found in the study guide, good instructions the learning management system (how to communication in this course) and in the course description when they applied for the course. Disclaimer: There is no general answer to the question. Students have different needs in private and regarding their own learning - not all students know what might even be best for themselves - they may not have been involved in several different learning situations either.<br /> Mats Brennerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09443126171606271184noreply@blogger.com
